Welcome to the Goldbitz Challenge
The Goldbitz Challenge is a competition widegame held over a Saturday and Sunday for teams of 4 Scouts. There is also a skills trophy up for grabs for the Saturday afternoon event. It is generally held in early July of each year at Broadstone Warren.
Goldbitz 2024
After a great event in 2023, we’re back again and we’ve officially got the 2024 event (almost) ready to go. The dates are July 6th / 7th from 13:00 through until 11:00.
If you’d like to register your interest (or a team or two) then please email goldbitz@eastsussexscouts.org.uk. If you don’t have the right numbers for full teams then please let us know – we’re happy to put teams together on the day.
If you’re able to help run a base in the evening then please email goldbitzhelpers@eastsussexscouts.org.uk – we always need assistance in the evening and there’s usually a good campfire to sit around afterwards 🙂
The afternoon challenge this year will be mini-pioneering. Usually nothing too complicated and a lot of fun, be prepared to duck!
The main event – the evening starts at about 20:00 after dinner. The Scouts have to find their way to a set of different bases, completing challenges at each one and avoiding the guards (Explorers). Once they’ve managed to visit enough bases they have one more devious task to complete. Can you complete the Goldbitz challenge?!?
